To say that head coach Steve Kerr and his Golden State Warriors had a disastrous 2019-20 NBA campaign would be an understatement.

The once untouchable franchise had the worst record in the league (15-50) and was understandably one of the eight teams whose season was cut short. They will not be among the 22 teams heading to Orlando to restart the season next month.

Now looking ahead to next season, Kerr bared his expectations for the Warriors' talented crop of youngsters, who are expected to play bigger roles in 2020-21. Per Wes Goldberg of The Mercury News, Kerr had this to say:

“I’m looking for a big, big leap forward for some of our younger players to the point where they can get into our rotation …

“Now who that is, that’s up to them. They have to earn that next year in camp and exhibition season and all that. But that’s what we’re really looking for.”

With Draymond Green and Kevon Looney the only healthy holdovers from the Dubs' championship unit, Golden State had to heavily rely on their unproven nucleus this season.

Players like Marquese Chriss and Damion Lee gave the Warriors a huge boost, while rookies Eric Paschall, Jordan Poole and Ky Bowman also left lasting impressions.

The Warriors are also expected to get a high pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, with Georgia Bulldogs star Anthony Edwards reportedly at the top of their wish list.

The “Splash Brothers” duo of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson will make their returns from their respective injuries next year. The Warriors' core looks vastly different from the formidable squad they fielded during their dynasty.

Still, there's nowhere to go but up for the Warriors, after experiencing the lowest of the low this year.
