Like many players in the league, Golden State Warriors center James Wiseman and head coach Steve Kerr are vastly invested in the social media world, particularly Twitter.

The Warriors head coach, who has been on Twitter since 2009 and has more than 600,000 followers, has been inactive on the platform since April. Kerr said that it gave him peace of mind, per NBS Sports Bay Area.

I’ve been off ever since. And it’s been bliss.

Kerr credited the Warriors then-rookie James Wiseman who the coach made a pact with after having trouble coping up with the ups and downs of being an NBA rookie.

It actually started as an agreement with (Warriors center) James Wiseman.

We were on a road trip somewhere, and I asked James how he was doing. It’s obviously a long season and he had his ups and downs.

We were in a conversation about life in general and I asked him about social media. We started talking about it. I said, ‘What you say we take a break, we both take a break for a few weeks.

Get off Twitter and anything else you’re on.’ He said, ‘Yes, let’s do it.’

The Warriors' rookie was often criticized on social media whenever he had bad moments on the NBA floor. Kerr added that people use social media in a destructive way.

It’s never been harder to be a professional athlete or a person in the limelight. It’s like life is a big minefield. We’re all human; we all make mistakes. But social media has made mistakes unforgivable. It’s a just a terrible way to treat one another.

People write things that they would never say to someone face to face.

The incoming sophomore is poised for a breakout next season after just playing 39 games due to injuries last season. Wiseman averaged 11.5 points and 5.8 rebounds for the Warriors.

The Warriors will be back in the spotlight again as Stephen Curry will have Klay Thompson back next season. They will surely explode on the social media world again, but Steve Kerr is currently enjoying life and is not expected to be back on social media soon all thanks to James Wiseman.
