Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr opened up about the challenges his team has faced dealing with the injury to Kevin Durant, who has missed the last nine games due to a calf injury:

“It's been frustrating. We talked about it when the injury occurred,” Kerr told Raptors beat reporter Josh Lewenberg during Monday morning's media availability. “Pretty vague, lot of grey area. One of the first things they told me was with calves it could be a couple weeks, it could be a couple months. It's not often you have injuries like that.”

Durant injured his calf on May 8 in Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals. There was some hope that the All-Star forward would be able to recover at some point during the NBA Finals, and he may finally be able to play in Monday's Game 5:

Though they were favored heading into their Finals matchup against the Raptors, the Warriors are currently trailing in the series by a count of three games to one. Without a doubt, Golden State could use Durant's services — if he is well enough to play.

Durant was a participant during Sunday's practice session and went through shootaround on Monday. Durant, who is a pending free agent, has been traveling with the Warriors. However, he has not sat before the media to answer questions about his calf injury.

The Warriors and Raptors will meet for Game 5 on Monday night. Tip-off inside Scotiabank Arena is set for 9:00 p.m. ET, with ABC having live broadcast coverage.
