Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is all-in on rookie James Wiseman.

The second overall pick of the 2020 NBA Draft showed promise in his rookie stint in the NBA, but a knee injury  has cut his season short. Despite his lackluster first year, Kerr remains high on his 20-year-old rookie.

“I have no doubt James is going to make a huge impact in this league,” Kerr said, via Connor Letourneau of The San Francisco Chronicle. “He's going to be a hell of a player. I have great belief in James.”

Although short, James Wiseman's debut campaign definitely gave Dub Nation something to be excited about. The young Memphis standout started 27 out of the 39 games he was available for Golden State this season. In 21.4 minutes per outing, the big man was able to average 11.5 points per game alongside 5.8 rebounds and 0.9 blocks per game.

His numbers may not blow your mind, but what Wiseman has shown so far is that his ceiling is as high as anyone in the league, which explains Kerr's optimism. The seven-foot-one lefty has shown promise on both ends of the floor, while his athleticism and speed are some areas Golden State can definitely work with moving forward.

With the Warriors poised to make a playoff comeback this 2020-21, it would've been great for the rook to get some playoff reps early in his career. Unfortunately, the former McDonald's All-American will have to cheer for his squad from the sidelines and gear up for what could be his breakout year next season.

Consider yourselves warned.
