Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is still trying to figure out what his very best starting five is.

The Dubs are 7-6  after a huge win over the Lakers on Wednesday, but Kerr has made it clear that his current group hasn't really clicked together quite yet. However, he will remain committed to them as they continue to build chemistry.

“If I had to win a game tomorrow, I wouldn't start that group,” Kerr said on 95.7 The Game's Damon, Ratto and Kolsky. “If this was a one-time thing, I would start a different group and probably go to some different combinations. But this is the team that I want to see develop a really good defensive identity, and James needs to be out there. Kelly and Andrew need to be together on the wings, guarding LeBron [James], and Kawhi [Leonard], and Paul George and all those guys.”

I'm not totally sure who else Kerr would start given the Warriors don't necessarily have a ton of depth. But, this current starting lineup is certainly the one he will roll with moving forward.

Golden State hasn't been great on both sides of the ball this season, sitting 24th in offensive rating and 18th in defensive rating. But, they've still been able to string together some victories, much in part to the brilliance of Steph Curry.

However, Monday's win over the defending champions certainly made a statement. The Warriors were down by 19 and clawed back to secure a two-point win. They had four players score in double digits, with Curry leading the way with 26.

James Wiseman is showing growth by the week, while Draymond Green's presence both on and off the floor has been crucial to this squad, despite his lack of scoring. If Kelly Oubre Jr. can also start to find his rhythm offensively, it's really going to help the Warriors make a push for a playoff spot in the West.

As the season goes on, hopefully, Kerr's ambitions for this starting five become a reality.
