The Golden State Warriors recently came out of nowhere as a potential destination for Kevin Durant after the former league MVP demanded a trade from the Brooklyn Nets. KD's sensational return to his former team to link up with Stephen Curry and Co. further picked up steam after reports emerged about how both Durant and the Dubs were open to a possible reunion.
One name that was dragged into trade rumors was Warriors stud Jordan Poole, who himself is coming off a breakout season with Golden State. According to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, however, a potential trade package centered around Poole isn't likely to materialize:
And while Poole has been rumored as a potential piece in a theoretical Warriors trade package to land Durant, there has been little traction between Golden State and Brooklyn on such a blockbuster transaction, sources said. Despite the apparent openness—both from Warriors veterans and Durant himself—regarding a superstar reunion in the Bay, Golden State has not been categorized as a team that's made serious overtures to pry Durant from Barclays Center.

The Brooklyn Nets have slapped Kevin Durant with an extremely high price tag, and it seems that the Warriors aren't willing to break the bank for the 12-time All-Star. This makes a lot of sense for the Dubs, considering how they just won the NBA title. They will be running it back with the same core next season, and more than a few pundits have already named them as the favorites to defend their title in 2022-23.
KD is a generational talent and no team in the league would pass up on the opportunity to sign this man. However, there appears to be too big a price to pay for the same. For the Warriors, the age-old saying becomes highly applicable: why fix something if it isn't broken?
