If available, the Golden State Warriors should pursue Joel Embiid from the Philadelphia 76ers, according to team legend Chris Mullin.

Speaking on NBC Sports' Runnin' Plays podcast, Mullin noted that Embiid would be a great fit for the Warriors. He was asked whether the Dubs should pursue Embiid or his Sixers running mate Ben Simmons if they are put in the block, and the Hall of Famer chose the Cameroonian center.

“I'd go Embiid,” Mullin decided after some deliberation. “I love Simmons … I just feel like with the way that Steve plays, he still likes to establish inside-out.”

Mullin argued that Embiid will give the Warriors an inside presence that will allow them to throw the ball down to when they need a bucket and a foul.

“I love small ball, but I still want some big guys,” the Warriors legend added. “I want some physicality, I want some pressure on the rim, and on a given night when I'm struggling in Game 6 on the road, can I throw it down to someone just to get a foul and stop the bleeding.”

“I'd go Embiid.”

It's worth noting that all of these are just rumors. However, there are speculations that Philadelphia fail to make a deep run in the playoffs once again, they could bow out the team and trade one of their two superstars.

The Warriors, which landed the no. 2 pick in this year's NBA draft, would certainly be glad to land either of them considering both Embiid and Simmons haven't even entered their primes yet.

Joel Embiid would certainly benefit and get to dominate in the paint by playing next to the greatest shooting back court of all time in Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. Simmons, meanwhile, would also be a deadly weapon for the Warriors with his elite penetrating ability and run in the open court.
