If there was any doubt that Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry was going to get paid handsomely this summer, it's been put to bed.

According to Substack's Marc Stein, the Warriors are on the verge of extending their superstar guard on a massive four-year deal:

Golden State’s Stephen Curry, I’m told, will soon be agreeing to a four-year, $215 million extension with the Warriors.

That's over $50 million per year but considering what Curry just did in 2020/21, it's not exactly a surprise. The Warriors star won the scoring title, averaging 32 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.8 assists while shooting 42% from downtown. He basically carried Golden State into the play-in tournament, but they disappointingly lost to the Los Angeles Lakers then Memphis Grizzlies.

Nonetheless, this new extension solidifies his future with the Warriors as they look to get back into title contention next season. Klay Thompson is set to return after a knee and Achilles injury, while James Wiseman should take significant strides in year two. Golden State also just added two more youngsters to the fold in the draft by selecting Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody.

The Warriors could still make some notable moves in free agency but even with their current core of Curry, Draymond Green, and Thompson, anything is possible for the trio who previously built a dynasty in the Bay Area.

Be happy Dubs fans, Steph isn't going anywhere and it seems like he's just getting better with age.
