Two things stand out in this situation. First, it’s rare to see Iguodala this furious and resorting to such acts. Second, the half had just ended and he still got thrown out of the ball game.
This is quite a blow to the Warriors, who are coming off a heartbreaking loss at the hands of the Blazers Thursday night in Oakland. Damian Lillard hit the game-winning 3-pointer off a broken play and Kevin Durant failed to deliver in the ensuing possession.
Entering Saturday’s contest, the Warriors held the Western Conference’s third seed in a playoff race that is as tight as ever. Golden State had lost three of its last five games prior to the tail end of their back-to-back against the Blazers.
Andre Iguodala only played 12 minutes on the night, putting up one rebound, one assist, and one block but his impact stayed significant by virtue of his plus/minus rating of +7 in limited play. Through 31 games, Iguodala held averages of 5.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists.
