There are a few talented players who have requested trades to begin the season with the latest being Jalen Ramsey demanding a trade from the Jacksonville Jaguars. One team who should aggressively pursue a trade for Ramsey is the Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders under Jon Gruden have struggled to defend the pass and it showed in Week 2 of this season. After Oakland took a 10-0 lead on Sunday, Patrick Mahomes proceeded to carve their secondary as he threw four touchdowns in just the second quarter.

Through two weeks in the season, the Raiders have allowed 341 passing yards per game, which is dead last in the NFL. Additionally, they have surrendered five touchdowns through the air (tied for third-most in the NFL).

With that being said, bringing in Ramsey would drastically change the outlook of the secondary moving forward. The talent has never been a question for the Jaguars cornerback, but he does bring some baggage.

Over the weekend, Ramsey got into an argument with head coach Doug Marrone on the sideline. It remains to be seen what the issue was between the two, but the relationship between them seems murky at the moment.

Currently, the Raiders boast a secondary with Daryl Worley, Gareon Conley, and Lamarcus Joyner as their starters. On the surface, that trio looks decent, but they have been mediocre to begin the season.

Oakland has had confidence that Conley will develop into a formidable cornerback in the NFL, but he has yet to show consistency since being drafted in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. The Ohio State product has combined to bring in three interceptions, 16 deflections, and 51 tackles in his first 19 games in his career.

As much as the Raiders like Conley, they can vastly improve their defense by pairing him with a talent like Ramsey. Ramsey, an All-Pro cornerback, has shown he is arguably the best cornerback in the NFL over the past few seasons.

The Raiders may be skeptical to advance towards a move for Ramsey. Especially after their decision to acquire Antonio Brown blew up in their face. Nonetheless, the 24-year-old cornerback seems to be worth the risk of bringing in to a team that is hoping to get better on defense.

Considering the teams that are in their division, the Raiders would be remiss to not pursue Ramsey via trade.
