It seems as though the old German is not ready to hang up his jersey quite yet, but could it be the last time he wears one for the Dallas team?
Rumors have been circulating regarding Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki and his potential move to the Golden State Warriors this free agency. Although Nowitzki has always worked in the best interest of the Mavs in the past, there is no doubt that he still wants to make a run at an NBA title before he retires.
This could very well mean the 38 year old veteran has at least entertained the idea of finding a team that can help take him through the postseason, and teams have surely taken note of his free agency. Believe it or not, an executive in the Warriors organization has already commented on the matter.
“We will be very aggressive. Very, very aggressive,” said the Warriors executive just recently on potential trade negotiations.
Even though Nowitzki will probably stay loyal as he always has, this trade isn't particularly the craziest idea in the world, considering Nowitzki has always taken pay cuts for the Mavs. His flexibility would surely be welcomed to any team looking for his talent.
Ultimately, it would be an utter shock for Mavericks fans all around to watch their franchise hero not end his career in Dallas.
