The Washington Wizards were playing without All-Star starting point guard John Wall on Saturday at home against the Phoenix Suns, so shooting guard Bradley Beal decided to show everyone that he's more than capable of running the team and being the alpha dog.

Bradley Beal finished with 40 points, 10 rebounds and a career-high 15 assists, recording the first triple-double of his NBA career. More importantly, he helped the Wizards defeat the Suns, 149-146, in triple overtime.

The Suns came into this game having won four games in a row. The Wizards, meanwhile, were on a two-game losing streak and coming off an 18-point loss to the Houston Rockets. Bradley Beal, though, stepped up in a big way and willed his team to a much-needed victory without John Wall in the lineup.

Beal played a whopping 54 minutes in this game. The All-Star guard shot 17-of-33 from the field, 4-of-12 from beyond the arc, and 2-of-2 from the free-throw line. With the win, the Wizards improved to 13-20 on the year and 9-6 at home.

The Wizards are still seven games under .500. Bradley Beal and the rest of his teammates know they have the talent to be a much better team. Maybe a triple-overtime win at home without John Wall will jump-start Washington.
