For much of the 2022-23 NBA season, the Washington Wizards have managed to remain in the thick of the Eastern Conference Play-In Tournament race. But with just a few games left in the regular season, it looks like their hopes are fading, and the recent injury updates provided on Bradley Beal and Kyle Kuzma certainly won't make things better for Washington.

Both Beal and Kuzma haven't played in over a week now, with Beal missing the Wizards past five games, and Kuzma missing their past six games. Washington has gone just 2-3 with both these guys out, and now find themselves three games behind the Chicago Bulls for the final Play-In spot in the East. The Wizards are already on the ropes, and now will be without Beal and Kuzma once again in a must-win game against the New York Knicks on Sunday.

“Bradley Beal and Kyle Kuzma did not practice today and will not play in Sunday's game against the Knicks, Wes Unseld Jr. said.”

The Wizards haven't had much go right for them this season, but they have received consistently strong production from both Beal and Kuzma throughout the season. However, they weren't winning much with them, and they likely won't win much without them, especially against a tough Knicks team on Sunday.

With just five games left on the season, and the Bulls surging ahead of them in the standings, it seems like only a matter of time until the Wizards will be officially eliminated from the Play-In tournament race. Maybe Beal and Kuzma will be able to return before the season ends, but if Washington loses to New York, it would be wise to not expect to see them take the court again this season.
