The Washington Wizards lost to the Brooklyn Nets Friday night by a final score of 115-104. Dwight Howard had a good game in the loss. The veteran center had 25 points and 17 rebounds, but it wasn't enough, as Washington fell to 5-10 on the season.

After his postgame interviews in the locker room, Dwight Howard didn't go home. Instead, he went back to the floor at Capital One Arena to practice his free throws. Howard shot 7-of-10 from the charity stripe against the Nets, but the eight-time All-Star wasn't satisfied and wanted to get more reps in.

Dwight Howard was with Wizards assistant Alex McLean, who was rebounding and passing the ball back to him. It was supposed to be a quiet, calm environment. That is until a Wizards arena worker started screaming from the second deck and heckling Howard, via Fred Katz of The Athletic:

A screeching voice resonated down from the mezzanine level. “Yo, Dwight! Make 10 straight!!” The voice followed up. “That’s right, Dwight! You better make it!!”

The heckling came from a persistent arena worker in the second deck. He was wearing the same yellow uniformed shirt as everyone else cleaning up the seated area, but wasn’t showing off a similar professional attitude to the rest.

“You bum ass!” the man yelled from the second level. One security worker near the court joked to another, “If I wasn’t so tired, I’d go up there and whip him.” But Howard kept swishing in his freebies.

“Yeah, that’s right!” the gentleman of utmost dignity bellowed. “Make your damn free throws!”

By the time Howard was done, security workers had whisked away the foolish pest. It’s safe to assume he won’t be back in the future.

A case could be made that the arena worker was just trying to help Dwight Howard get used to the verbiage he's accustomed to hearing during games on the road. However, that wasn't the time or place to do it.
