The Jacksonville Jaguars this past season came into the year with high hopes. They had made it all the way to the Super Bowl the year before. Everyone expected them to make it far in the 2018 season, however, they put up a huge stinker. They went 5-11 and finished last in the AFC South Division.

Even though they yet again had one of the best defenses in the league, their offense was suspect. Defensively, they allowed the fourth least points in the entire NFL. They only allowed 19.8 points per game. However, their offense was simply putrid. They scored only 15.3 points per game, which ranked second to last in the entire NFL.

Blake Bortles only started 12 games on the season, throwing for 2,718 yards with 13 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. His completion percentage sat at a 60.3 percent and his quarterback rating was a terrible 44.1.

The team is very likely moving on from him. Since having him for five years, he's proven himself to be a mediocre quarterback at best. The Jaguars need to go out and solidify the position.

They could go into the draft and take a quarterback in the first round. Kyler Murray of Oklahoma, Dwayne Haskins of Ohio State, and Daniel Jones of Duke all could be taken in the first round. However, they aren't sure things, and they need a veteran presence while they still have a great defense.

Nick Foles would fill this role perfectly. He had a player option with the Eagles, but he chose to opt out. He's now an unrestricted free agent and can be signed by any team.

In the five games he started in the regular season, Foles had a record of 4-1. He threw for 1,413 yards with seven touchdowns and only four interceptions. His completion percentage was a very high 72.3 percent while his quarterback rating was a solid 69.5. He pulled the Eagles back into playoff contention.

The playoff wonder would give the Jaguars an extension to their success. Foles could come and help them make a deep playoff run, regardless if they select a quarterback in this upcoming draft.
