As things presently stand, Bobby Lashley is WWE‘s United States Champion. Now granted, that could change as soon as SummerSlam, as he has a rematch booked with Theory for the red, white, and blue belt and may ultimately see his reign capped off at 28 days, for now, “The Almighty One” is the champion, and per the man himself, he wants to be a fighting champion and has issued an open challenge for anyone who wants to challenge him for the belt.

Since first making his appearance in WWE all the way back in 2005, Lashley has taken part in 165 matches with a title on the line and defended a singles championship on 69 different occasions. He's gone to war with Booker T, feuded with members of the New Day save Xavier Woods, and even taken the ring on multiple occasions with Drew McIntyre and lived to tell the tale with his championship belt still around his waist.

So naturally, with Lashley now in his third reign as the United States Champion, it only makes sense for the eventual Hall of Famer to add a few more title defenses to his Cagematch page before wrestling Theory for the belt on the final Saturday in July. These three performers would be fantastic stepping stones on Lashley's journey to SummerSlam.

WWE should book these three US Championship matches for Bobby Lashley.

3. Damian Priest

If Bobby Lashley wants to test his mettle against the best performers the WWE, and RAW specifically, has to offer, why not put “The Allmighty One” in the ring with one of the biggest, baddest dudes on the brand in Damian Priest to see who is the biggerest and badderest of the bunch?

Despite both being members of the greater WWE Universe since 2018, Lashley has never recorded a win over Priest in any of their four times in the ring together, with the duo first appearing in the 2021 Royal Rumble together, then Priest recording a win over Lashley in both a solo and a tag team contest during an August episode of RAW before wrestling a tag-team match as teammates back in January at a house show in Boston.

Could that change on RAW? Sure, if The Fed wants to take a break from the Judgement Day-Mysterios feud and just throw a good old-fashioned slobberknocker between two big-time, big-bodied performers, having Priest answer the call would be a fantastic call.

2. Finn Bálor

If Priest isn't quite right Lashley's open challenge, but WWE still has eyes on passing some judgment on their current United States Champion, then Finn Bálor might just be the man for the job.

A long-time foe of Lashley who has shared the ring with “The Almighty One” on 51 occasions, including in three separate matches where the title changed hands, Balor hasn't wrestled the current United States Champion since all the way back in 2021, and, considering he's currently having a bit of an upside momentum wise, the timing may be right for that particular feud to be re-explored, especially if the match ends with some hints of the return of Edge.

While their styles shouldn't work perfectly, Balor and Lashley have been a fantastic pairing over the years and will remain so well into the future.

1. Ezekiel

Bobby Lashley and Ezekiel have never shared the ring together. Mind you, Lashley has wrestled Ezekiel's brother Elias on a number of occasions, both as friends in tag team action or facing off against each other one-on-one both for the title or just for the love of the game.

Should that have any impact on Ezekiel? Eh, probably not, as Zeke has largely tried to separate himself from his brother except when Kevin Owens tries to butt his way into the Samson brother's business, but then again, with KO MIA and Elrod's older brother likely annoyed by his lack of action at Money in the Bank, why not be the man who answeres the open call to take on Lashley one-on-one? Zeke is a fan favorite, a fun performer, and has an uncanny ability to speak his way into interesting matches with his beautiful voice, and effortless charisma.

Unlike with Judgement Day, or any other wrestler who currently performs in a team, Ezekiel is a mid-carder with no deep-seated alliances save his brothers, so putting him in a match with Lashley that would likely be overshadowed, or at least impacted by Theory wouldn't burry him in what should be a solid stepping point in his still-early WWE career. If Zeke wants to separate himself from his brother, the easiest way to get it done is by competing in consequential matches and challenging for championships, even if he's maybe not ready to defeat a performer of Lashley's caliber just yet.
