Ex-WWE star and wrestling legend Al Snow became a real-life superhero on Thursday after he save a boy from ocean riptide in a Florida beach.
In an interview with TMZ, Snow revealed that he heard yelling and screaming while he was at the Santa Rosa Beach in Destin, Florida. Upon seeing the young boy needing rescuing, the WWE icon did not hesitate and immediately took action upon realizing that the lifeguard on duty won't make it in time.
“I made it, thank God. I caught him just by the arm just as a wave started to pull him even further out. If I hadn't have grabbed him, I think he'd have probably went out to sea,” Snow shared. “That would have been it.”
Al Snow admitted the rescue attempt became dangerous when a wave took them under. Fortunately, they were able to get through it and he was able to hand the child to the lifeguard before ensuring his safety as well.
The former WWE pro, however, shared that he was “about to collapse” and was really exhausted after his heroic deed. Luckily for him and the boy, they didn't suffer any injuries.
Snow found success in the wrestling scene in the late '90s to the early 2000s'. The height of his popularity came in ECW from 1997 to 1998 before he transitioned to WWE and found massive success from 1998 to 2004. He was known for his character of bringing and talking to a mannequin head he called “Head” in his fights.
