As you may or may not have noticed, Bayley has been gone from WWE for quite some time, having suffered a torn ACL in the lead-up to Money in the Bank 2021.
Though the last name-less superstar has still remained a fixture of the WWE Universe, with the occasional appearance on the company's television programming and a very active presence on Twitter that both predicted Liv Morgan's Money in the Bank win and started a micro-feud with her after she failed to answer her post-win video chat, fans have been patiently waiting to see her actually return to the ring to do what she does best; wrestling.
Fortunately, it looks like Bayley's return may not be too far away, with the 33-year-old native Californian reportedly scheduled to be in Nashville at the end of the month just in time for SummerSlam.
Wait… you don't think that means… Hmm.
Now, as you may or may not know, a torn ACL takes roughly a year to recover from in the world of wrestling, with Bayley's one-year anniversary having passed on July 9th, 2022. While every person's body is different, and there's no reason for Bayley to rush back if she isn't ready, the prospects of the six-time champion returning at SummerSlam, presumably to feud with Morgan is just too good to not get excited about, especially since Ronda Rousey will likely go on the shelf following her match.
Factor in Bayley's status as a free agent not contracted to either RAW or SmackDown specifically – as if that really matters in 2022 – and fans will be keeping a close eye during the women's matches at SummerSlam for a “Ding Dong, Hello.”
