The June 17, 2022 edition of SmackDown Live saw a familiar scene for WWE fans. Roman Reigns and Riddle duked it out in a high-stakes title match for the Universal crown. Despite his best efforts, Riddle lost to “The Tribal Chief”. Spoiling his celebration, though, was Brock Lesnar, who challenged Roman Reigns at SummerSlam for the belt in a Last Man Standing match.

A good portion of the WWE fanbase wasn't pleased with the booking decision again. Many fans feel like that this feud has been used over and over again, and has completely lost it's luster. Apparently, one talent shares this thought, as Seth Rollins tweeted a face-palm emoji after the announcement.

One of the biggest criticisms of modern WWE programming is their penchant to “overpush” their top talents. The constant “burial” of fan favorites in favor of stars like Lesnar and Reigns has been something that irked fans for a long time. Seeing these two face off again on SummerSlam certainly leaves a bad taste on many fans' mouth.

It's certainly ironic, though, that Seth Rollins is the one reacting to this rehash of Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns. Rollins famously cashed in his Money in the Bank contract at Wrestlemania 31 against these two men to steal the WWE title from them. With Rollins set to feature in the Money in the Bank match, it's fair to wonder whether he'll pull off the same stunt twice against both men.

It will certainly be interesting how WWE builds up Lesnar vs. Reigns this time around. Stick around to find out how.
