New York Yankees rookie Anthony Volpe has had a wild last week. From making the Opening Day roster to playing at Yankee Stadium to begin his big league career, you could imagine he's being hounded for attention from fans and all his family from the New Jersey area, who have all been in attendance for this first series against the San Francisco Giants.

Stardom is something Volpe needs to get used to and Aaron Boone revealed he recently spoke to the young shortstop about just that. Via Bryan Hoch:

Anthony Volpe has a lot going on. Aaron Boone spoke to him recently about the demands for his time, telling him: “‘No' is an OK answer.”

“It's something he's going to have to learn. He's such a good kid. He's got such a good head on his shoulders that I'm not too worried.”

After all, Volpe is just 21 years old. To make the Majors four years removed from being drafted out of high school is unheard of nowadays. However, his maturity both as a baseball player and a human being proved he was ready for the spotlight in the Bronx.

Volpe went 0 for 2 in his debut on Thursday but did draw a walk and showed off his impressive plate discipline. The infielder also swiped a bag, showcasing his speed.

There is no question Anthony Volpe will be a special player for years to come in New York, but he'll need to learn how to deal with the ups and downs, both on and off the field. By the sounds of it though, Boone believes Volpe is going to be just fine.
