At the MLB All-Star break, things looked not so great for the New York Yankees. Since then and after acquiring Anthony Rizzo and Joey Gallo at the trade deadline, the Bronx Bombers have been on fire.

On Tuesday, they won their 11th game in a row in a 5-4 victory over the Atlanta Braves. Yankees manager, via SNY, spoke about the win streak following the game.

“We're in the grind, we're in the fight. It's been so much fun competing with these guys. watching these guys compete, watching these guys show up every single day, knowing there's a lot on the line.”

Tuesday's victory didn't come easy as Boone had to pull closer Aroldis Chapman with two outs in the 9th after he loaded the bases and gave up one run to make it 5-4. Wandy Peralta came in for the Yankees and was able to get Freddie Freeman to fly out to left field to end the game.

Players like Giancarlo Stanton and Luke Voit have started to heat up for New York as they have pulled to within 4 games of the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League East. If the playoffs were to start today, the Yankees would be hosting the Boston Red Sox in a wild card game.

New York is getting hot at the perfect time in the season as they look to make a push well into October. The offense is stacked and if they can figure out the current struggles at the backend of the bullpen, the Yankees will be as dangerous as anyone come playoff time.
