It appears that New York Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo has finally broken out of his slump (thanks in part to Taylor Swift). His hitting malaise has seemingly been cured after snapping a seven-game hitless streak and going 5-for-8 over the final two games of the recently concluded series against the Kansas City Royals.

In the series finale versus the Royals, Rizzo was perfect, going 4-for-4 with a home run and a double.

It was a welcome sight, to say the least, for the Yankees.

“To see him get going the way he did today, it means a lot to us,” Harrison Bader said of Rizzo after their 8-5 win on Sunday against the Royals, per Bryan Hochf MLB.com.“We pull for each other. We support him; we support everybody. It’s a big day. More important than the results are how he’s been battling through it, staying positive, staying focused. It’s awesome to see him pop one.”

Yankees manager Aaron Boone was also ecstatic over Rizzo's resurgence at the plate.

“When you’re going through it, it’s not easy; it’s not fun,” Aaron Boone told reporters about his thoughts on Rizzo. “But he’s got a lot of support in that room. Everything points to, we should be able to get that out with the physical attributes he still possesses. It was a good day for him.”

After losing five of their first six games to start the second half of the season, the Yankees are now on a three-game win streak after sweeping the Royals at home.

The Yankees hope they can sustain that momentum when they host the New York Mets this Tuesday.
