The New York Yankees may be out of the running for a spot in the 2023 MLB playoffs, but there's plenty of reason to be optimistic about their future. One such reason is the play of electric rookie Jasson Dominguez, the 20-year old centerfielder who has done nothing but turn the heads of fans since receiving a call-up to the big leagues. And on Friday night, Dominguez continued to show that he'll be a huge part of the Yankees' turnaround that could come as soon as next season.

Despite suffering an 8-2 loss against the Milwaukee Brewers at home, the Yankees centerfielder did his fair share of damage at the plate. The 20-year old hit a two-run home run in the third inning off of Colin Rea, notching the fourth dinger and driving in the seventh run of his brief big league career thus far. And in doing so, Dominguez joined two exclusive Yankees lists that highlight just how impressive his seven-game run as a big leaguer has been to this point.

Per ESPN Stats & Info, Jasson Dominguez became just the third player in Yankees history to notch three multiple-RBI games within the first seven games of one's career, joining Jesse Hill and Frank Laporte, who notched the feat in 1935 and 1905, respectively. Moreover, the 20-year old centerfielder joined Shelley Duncan as the only two players in Yankees history to hit four home runs in the first seven games of their career, per Evan Barnes of Newsday.

Of course, the parameters for these kinds of clubs are very arbitrary. It has become something of a meme among fans that analysts use random benchmarks as indicators just so they could prop up certain players like the way they do for the Yankees centerfielder in this respect.

Moreover, the sample size for Jasson Dominguez isn't exactly the greatest, as he hasn't yet firmly established himself as a big leaguer. Nevertheless, this achievement shows that the future is bright for the Yankees youngster. Now comes the hard part of following through on what has been such a bright start to what should be a long and prosperous big league career for the 20-year old.
