The Green Bay Packers have been in the middle of a chaotic offseason centering around reported troubles between Aaron Rodgers and his growing distain for some in the Packers front office.

Green Bay has made back-to-back NFC Championship appearances but haven't been able to get over the hump in either during the last two years. While Rodgers returning clearly gives Green Bay the best chance to win a title again in 2021, there still isn't any clarity as to whether or not he wants to come back or will come back to Green Bay.

Despite all of that, there is a lot of talent on this roster for Matt LaFleur to work with. Davante Adams is one of if not the best wide receiver in the game and Jaire Alexander can claim the same at his cornerback position. Aaron Jones, one of the best dynamic and two-way running backs in the NFL is back after agreeing to a deal this offseason with the Packers. While Green Bay brings back a lot of the same faces, there are others who are flying under the radar. Here are two hidden gems on the Green Bay Packers roster.

Josh Myers

The Packers had one of the most stout offensive lines in the NFL in 2020. They ranked in the top five in both the run game and in pass protection. With Green Bay cap-strapped in the offseason however, they were unable to resign their all-pro center Corey Linsley. Linsley deserved the bag and he was given the bag in free agency by the Los Angeles Chargers, ending his great run in the green and gold.

As a result, the Packers addressed the hole early in the 2021 NFL Draft and went out and selected Josh Myers in round 2, out of Ohio State.

While it's just OTAs and offseason programs, the early results have been great for Myers. He's stepped in flawlessly and has worked with the first unit during much of his early time this offseason.

Green Bay has flexibility at the offensive line as Elgton Jenkins quite literally took snaps at all five spots on the offensive line in 2020. While this is great for LaFleur and the coaching staff, they likely want to allow Jenkins to settle in at one spot in 2021. Adding Myers in the draft may provide them with the opportunity to do so.

Myers is the clear cut favorite to be the starting center Week 1 for the Packers as a rookie. Who he is snapping the ball to is yet to be determined, but Myers is starting to see the game slow down in front of him as he gets more reps.

Via PackersNews.com, here's what the Packers rookie said.

“It means a lot to me to get those reps,” Myers said. “To get to play with those older guys and kind of see how the process goes, just kind of learn my way throughout this thing.”

“It’s a lot,” Myers said of what he needs to learn. “It’s getting slower every day though, to be honest with you guys. I’ve taken very big steps forward since we started this thing with our offense and every day feeling more comfortable. It’s starting to slow down already.” – Josh Myers.

That's a great sign for LaFleur and a great sign for the Packers as the offseason continues to roll along.

Devin Funchess

It's not often that a player who has been in the league for over five years can qualify as a “hidden gem” but given the circumstances around Packers wide receiver Devin Funchess, he absolutely fits the criteria.

Funchess sat out the 2020 season after opting out due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The year before in 2019, he lasted one game for the Indianapolis Colts before going down with a season ending injury. It's been over two years since anyone has seen real, live action of Funchess on a football field. He appears to be more than ready with the Packers.

So far, when asked about Funchess, LaFleur has raved about the wideout. Via PackersWire.USAtoday.com, LaFleur said this about the Packers wide receiver recently:

“Well, he sure looks the part, there’s no doubt about that,” LaFleur said. “You’re talking about a big, strong, long, physical guy that can run and sink his hips. I know he has a lot to learn, but we’re excited about having him on this team and letting him go compete, and we’ll see what he can do.” – Matt LaFleur.

Davante Adams gets a ton of the attention and rightfully so but the Packers have been starving for a legitimate No. 2 wideout on the depth chart for awhile now. Maybe Funchess won't be that, but he figures to play into the Packers offense in some form or fashion in 2021. Because of that, he is a hidden gem of sorts for Green Bay.

Many of the regulars will be back for the Packers in 2021. Yet it's these two hidden gems in Josh Myers and Devin Funchess that can provide much needed relief and a boost to Green Bay's offense as the new season approaches.
