The second elimination game of Tuesday afternoon in Omaha sees a second consecutive SEC West showdown for each of the Arkansas Razorbacks, and both will be playing for the right to continue their quest for a national title, one that would be a first in school history for both outfits. Both teams also know that whoever wins, it will take two more elimination game victories against a white-hot Ole Miss team to progress further. Arkansas last played on Monday evening, a 13-5 loss at the hands of the Rebels, while Auburn played on Sunday afternoon, where they eliminated second-seeded Stanford 6-2. Let's get right to the Arkansas-Auburn prediction and pick.

First pitch from Charles Schwab Field is set for 7PM EST on ESPN. Thanks to FanDuel, here's the odds for both the Tigers and Razorbacks to progress.

Arkansas vs. Auburn Prediction

Similar to their lead in the jello shot challenge at Rocco's Omaha, the Hogs lead in the minds of oddsmakers coming into Tuesday's tilt. It's not difficult to see why, as Arkansas has looked the better of the two over the course of the postseason, and won the three-game series between the two sides back at the beginning of May. Nonetheless, the Tigers come in with some pedigree of their own, having dispatched both second-seeded Stanford and back in the Super Regionals, third-seeded Oregon State. Here are the best bets for this SEC West elimination game, and why you might consider making them.

Auburn moneyline makes sense from a bettor's perspective, even if you don't think they'll win. Arkansas is too heavily favored to really make too much sense, even on parlays. Take a flier on the Tigers, and if they're inspired to a victory behind the likes of Sonny Dichiara and company, you'll come out of it a bit ahead as well.

Arkansas -1.5 runs is the obvious choice from a mathematical standpoint. Sure they're one day removed from an eight-run loss to Ole Miss, but it's better odds, and when the Hogs win, they typically win big, as evidenced by their insane 17-2 drubbing of Stanford in the opening round. Arkansas saved pitching on yesterday as well, preferring to throw more preferred starters in their third contest, whether it had been against Auburn like in reality, or if they'd hypothetically beaten Ole Miss.

Over 13.5 runs is again, an obvious mathematical choice, but not just that, it follows what we've seen so far in Omaha. Just limiting the discussion to Arkansas for now, they've by themselves put up five or more runs in all but two of their seven games this postseason, including a 20-12 win over Oklahoma State and the 17-2 win over Stanford we talked about earlier. Auburn themselves have plated at least five runs in all but three of their eight contests, including winning scores of 19-7, 21-7, and 11-4 in the regionals. Both teams have bats that can score with anybody in the country, and offense has been the word in Omaha so far, so expect the scorekeeper to get plenty of work on Tuesday evening.

Who's going to win? That's a question you're probably asking yourself, as you consider everything else mentioned here so far. If you ask me, I'd take Arkansas to win, based on their pitching depth and performances all season. It was a tough sight for the Razorbacks to miss out on a potential legitimate national title run last season, and this prediction says they keep the dream of redemption alive for even just one more day.
