Ole Miss has placed itself on the doorstep of the championship series for the first time since 2014, and they'll be hoping to do what that team led by Sikes Orvis and Errol Robinson could not. This go around it's Tim Elko, Peyton Chatagnier, and company who come into this one on a day's rest, all the while being possibly the hottest team in baseball. It's time to continue our college world series odds series with an Arkansas-Ole Miss prediction and pick.

For the Razorbacks of Arkansas, they know their back is against the wall and they need to not only get past the Rebels once today, but they also would need to do it again tomorrow night as well.

Pageantry aside, let's talk baseball. Thanks to FanDuel, here's the odds coming into tonight's game, where first pitch is thrown from Omaha at 7PM EST on ESPN.

2022 College World Series Odds: Arkansas-Ole Miss Odds

Moneyline: Ole Miss (-120), Arkansas (-102)

Spread: Ole Miss +1.5 runs (-188), Arkansas -1.5 runs (+148)

Over/Under: Over 12.5 runs (+100), Under 12.5 runs (-122)

Arkansas vs. Ole Miss Prediction

Interesting lines set by the oddsmakers to say the least. Moneyline would tell you that Ole Miss is favored, but the spread says the Hogs are more likely to come out on top. That being said, here are the bets you should make for this SEC West tilt, and why you should make them.

Ole Miss moneyline wouldn't seem very smart on the surface given it's a bit less favorable than the alternative, but if you're looking to build a parlay, you want safe options. Ole Miss seems to be the safe option, having gone undefeated in the postseason thus far, and having just dispatched the Hogs by a score of 13-5 two days ago. Sure, Arkansas moneyline might be enticing as well, but given the odds, this really is just a parlay bet, so take the Rebels.

Arkansas -1.5 runs just jumps off the page at you with how obvious it is. Even in a parlay, -188 odds for Ole Miss on the spread are brutal. This means you've got to take the Hogs here, and if they do cover, you've made yourself a little money on it as well. I wouldn't expect a particularly close game, however, seeing as no game in the College World Series to this point has been decided by fewer than four runs. More to that point, none of those games were particularly close entering the ninth inning. In fact, the last meeting between these two had a bit of window dressing itself, with the Hogs finding a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to bring the deficit down to eight.

Under 12.5 runs is the move here, even at worse odds, because only three games in Omaha so far would hit have hit the over. Sure, one of them is Ole Miss-Arkansas, but it's a new day and a new game. Arkansas did put it on Auburn on Tuesday however, winning 10-1, so there is the potential for this to hit the over, but trends form for a reason, and 70% of anything in sports is usually a pretty good indicator of future results. Expect a decent spread and probably some decent scoring, but nothing too out of the ordinary on Wednesday night.

Arkansas vs. Ole Miss Prediction

Ole Miss is my pick to win this one, even with neither of their two aces in Dylan DeLucia and Hunter Elliott on the mound. I'm not sure on fire is descriptive enough to describe how well the Ole Miss bats have been really the last month and a half. Soaked in molten lava maybe? Either way, the Rebels just seem unbeatable at this moment in time, and you'd have to imagine even if they don't get it done Wednesday that they don't lose two in a row. This matchup between the jello shot leaders is bound to produce spectacle, and if my word is of any value, expect more Hotty Toddy in the stands than Woo Pig Sooie.

Arkansas vs. Ole Miss Prediction: Ole Miss +1.5 (-188)
