The Green Bay Packers are entering an incredibly important season. They're coming off of a humiliating defeat in the NFC Divisional Round, a loss they cannot afford to repeat too many times. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has to slow down eventually, so Green Bay needs to capitalize on his prime years as soon as they can. Unfortunately for the Packers, there's still plenty of areas on the roster that need to be addressed before the regular season. Here are three trades the Packers could make to round out their roster.

Packers Trade Targets To Complete 2022 Roster

3. Marquise Blair

One of the areas that Green Bay needs to address is safety. They're set to start Adrian Amos and Darnell Savage at the position. Those two are two of the most solid safeties in the NFL, so there's no problems there. However, the depth behind those players is terrible. There are only two other safeties on Green Bay's roster, and neither has ever made a significant contribution in the NFL. The Packers' secondary would be in serious trouble if Vernon Scott or Shawn Davis had to play serious snaps, so there's a clear need for an upgrade.

That's where Marquise Blair comes in. Blair is a former second-round selection with the Seattle Seahawks. He's played a decent amount of snaps with the Seahawks, but the depth chart ahead of him is loaded. Seattle has committed a ridiculous amount of money to the safety position, as starters Quandre Diggs and Jamal Adams are two of the best players at their positions. Blair would likely see some playing time with the Seahawks, but Seattle would likely be willing to part ways with him for the right price. The Packers should be willing to pay up a third-rounder to acquire good depth at an incredibly important position.

2. K'Lavon Chaisson

The Packers have a similar situation at edge rusher as safety. They have two established pass-rushers who will give them quality play in Preston Smith and Rashan Gary. But they have very little depth at the position. Kingsley Enagbare and Tipa Galeai are currently listed as their two main backups at the position. Edge rusher is far too important of a position to enter the season with those two guys as the main backups on the team. It's clear that the Packers need to improve at the position before the regular season rolls around.

Chaisson could easily provide that upgrade. The former first-round pick never really panned out for the Jaguars, but there's reason to believe he could play well with Green Bay. Chaisson's incredible burst, speed and athleticism were what made him a first-round pick. He still has those traits a couple of seasons into his NFL career. The Packers developed a very similar player to Chaisson into an elite pass-rusher. Rashan Gary's profile was incredibly similar to Chaisson when the two were coming out of college, and now Gary is one of the better outside linebackers in the NFL. That track record of developmental success should make the Packers willing to take a chance on Chaisson and his potential.

1. Brandin Cooks

After trading away Davante Adams, wide receiver is easily the worst position on Green Bay's roster. The Packers currently have Allen Lazard, Christian Watson, and Sammy Watkins set to start at the position. That's easily a bottom-five wide receiver room in the NFL. Green Bay simply cannot expect to compete at the highest level without significant upgrades at the position. None of their starters are capable of filling the role of a number one receiver. The Packers need an upgrade, and they need one now.

Brandin Cooks is the perfect guy to help Green Bay fix their biggest problem. He's coming off of his second straight 1,000-yard season with the Houston Texans. Cooks somehow managed to put up big numbers with the Texans, one of the worst quarterback situations in the league. If paired with Aaron Rodgers, it's likely that Cooks would be even more productive. He can clearly still play at the highest level, even without solid quarterback play. The Packers should jump at the opportunity to acquire a player like him before the regular season roles around.
