It's been a rather interesting offseason for the Seattle Seahawks. After trading away Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos, Seattle finds themselves in a bit of a rebuild. Even so, Pete Carroll seems to disagree as he aims to lead the franchise to a playoff appearance in the upcoming season. To do that though, the front office needs to take a look at some potential trade targets to round out the Seahawks' 2022 roster.

They did a decent job in the NFL Draft, but the team could still use some much-needed talent. Charles Cross is an exciting offensive line prospect who should become a star for the Seahawks. However, the rest of the offensive line must still be upgraded. For that reason, Seattle should look to acquire some players to improve the trenches.

The defense has been a key issue for the Seahawks for quite some time now. They brought in a plethora of prospects to help improve the secondary but the front seven is lacking. That's especially true since Seattle never found a proper replacement for Bobby Wagner after releasing him during the offseason. Look for the front office to potentially make a move for an inside linebacker.

With that said, here are three trade targets the Seahawks must consider to round out their 2022 roster.

Seahawks Trade Targets To Complete 2022 Roster

3. An interior offensive lineman

The offensive line, or lack thereof, was one of the reasons Wilson became frustrated with the organization. They've made some adjustments since trading their former star quarterback but it's not enough. The Seahawks are likely going to struggle in the trenches, which doesn't bode well for their playoff hopes. Seattle must consider all options here if they want to improve the offensive line for the upcoming season.

Their best bet will be veteran linemen who are in the final year of their contract. Seattle must find a way to improve the trenches while simultaneously not spending too much money. This franchise is in a rebuild and cap space is important for them to build a competitive roster. If the Seahawks can manage that, then their playoff admiration could remain intact.

2. A veteran linebacker

Losing Bobby Wagner is going to take its toll. He's one of the best pure tacklers in the league and led the Seahawks' defense throughout his career. Now, Seattle is left with a lack of versatility at inside linebacker and that needs to change quickly. It'll be tough to pull off, but the front office must address this issue before the start of the season.

It'll be interesting to see if the Seahawks can make some trades post-June 1. Some salary cap will clear up and Seattle can start making a big move or two. Right now, Seattle has a ton of linebackers who are likely all competing for a final spot on the roster. However, if the front office can reel in a legitimate veteran linebacker, life will become much easier for this defense.

1. Baker Mayfield

At the end of the day, this is the only trade scenario the Seahawks should make. The quarterback situation is abysmal as Geno Smith and Drew Lock are just not great starting options. Sure, Baker Mayfield struggled throughout the year last season, but most of the blame can be put on the multiple injuries he played through. Furthermore, adding Mayfield gives Seattle a competent quarterback which would help the offense remain competitive.

As of now, the rumors are the Seahawks and Carolina Panthers are the most interested in trading for Baker Mayfield. He'd be a great fit in Seattle, as Carroll is likely to use a run-first approach. It's time a franchise takes a chance on Mayfield, as he would obviously be the best quarterback on this franchise. Look for trade rumors to heat up in the coming days, as multiple teams will make some big moves in June.
