The Jacksonville Jaguars wasted no time moving on from Blake Bortles. The Jaguars signed Nick Foles once free agency began as their new signal caller.

The deal is reportedly a four-year, $88 million contract that includes $50 million in guarantees. Besides a Super Bowl ring, Foles can now boast a hefty contract on his resume.

In direct correlation to the Foles signing, the Jaguars decided to cut Bortles. Bortles had been the teams starting quarterback since being drafted third overall in the 2014 NFL Draft.

The five-year veteran showed flashes of being a franchise quarterback but could never put it all together. It was a move that was inevitably going to come.

With Foles, the Jaguars are hoping for a culture change that shifts them to a winning franchise. The expectations will be high for a team that was just in the AFC Championship two seasons ago.

This roster still has plenty of talent around Foles and defensively they are still one of the best in the NFL. If Foles can step up and contribute right away this team could be dangerous.

Here are three bold predictions for Foles in the 2019 season.

3. Foles Throws for Over 4,000 Yards

This will mark the first time that Foles will likely start a whole season under center — barring injury. In his seven seasons in the NFL, he has started in a total of 44 games.

He has never started in more than 11 games in one season. Due to that fact, Foles has yet to eclipse the 3,000-yard mark in a single season.

In 2019, that will change as Foles will amass over 4,000 yards during the season. Foles will have a plethora of young wide receivers to throw to this upcoming season, along with Leonard Fournette out of the backfield.

Dede Westbrook and Keelan Cole will look to improve upon their 2018 seasons with a better quarterback getting them the ball. Marquise Lee will also return in 2019 after missing the 2018 season due to injury.

The way Foles likes to take shots downfield, 4,000 yards is more than doable in this offense.

2. Jaguars Will Make the AFC Championship

Just two seasons ago, the Jaguars looked poised to reach the Super Bowl. The Jaguars were up 20-10 to begin the fourth quarter, but then Tom Brady happened.

Just like many other teams, the Jaguars dreams were crushed by Brady and they thought they'd be back the next season.

Fast forward to 2018, and the Jaguars struggled all year to the tune of a 5-11 record. Thus, the front office knew that changes needed to be made.

With how dominant the defense is and the young talent on offense, the Jaguars just needed a quarterback. As a result, the Jaguars signed Foles to be their savior, like he once was for the Philadelphia Eagles.

For the Eagles, Foles stepped in for an injured Carson Wentz in 2017 and won the Eagles their first ring in franchise history. He almost led them to a deep playoff run again in 2018 before falling short to the New Orleans Saints.

The Jaguars are hoping for similar results from their newly signed quarterback. In 2019, the Jaguars will return to the AFC Championship once again.

In a division where everyone is picking either the Indianapolis Colts or Houston Texans, the Jaguars are proven to be the victors. This time fans of Jacksonville will hope for a better result than in 2017.

1. Foles Will Break the Jaguars Single-Season Touchdown Record

Without looking it up on Google, could you guess who holds the single-season passing touchdown record for Jacksonville? Not Mark Brunell, Byron Leftwich, or David Garrard.

It is none other than the man, the myth, the legend himself: Blake Bortles. Bortles threw for 35 touchdowns in 2015, making fans giddy at the potential he possibly had.

That would prove to be naught, as Bortles has likely played his last down as the starting quarterback of the Jaguars. Now steps in Foles to make fans forget the rollercoaster ride of the Bortles era.

In Foles' career, his career-high in touchdowns is 27. This came during 2013 season where he threw for 27 touchdowns and just two interceptions.

That season, Foles would make his only Pro Bowl to date. That changes in 2019 as Foles will outdo what Bortles did in 2015 and throw for more than 35 touchdowns.

When you get paid starting quarterback money, you better be ready to perform like one. Foles will be ready to prove doubters wrong in 2019 by airing it all over opposing defenses.
