The offseason is coming to an end soon teams are ramping up for the 2022 NFL season. Baltimore Ravens fans should be feeling confident right now, as a healthy roster should keep this franchise competitive. However, not everyone can make the team, as the coaching staff will have to release multiple players. For that reason, we look at three possible cut candidates on the Ravens roster entering training camp.

Baltimore has a talented team right now, as the starting squad is shaping up to be one of the best on paper in the league. It'll be interesting to see what the final roster looks like though, as there are multiple backup positions up for grabs. With a plethora of rookies joining the organization, the Ravens will have their hand's full deciphering who to cut.

As of now, there are two fullbacks on the team, which means one is likely to be cut by the end of training camp. Additionally, Baltimore has plenty of wide receivers available and a surprise release may come to fruition. Lastly, considering JK Dobbins should be back to full health, the Ravens may opt to move on from a veteran running back.

With that said, here are three potential cut candidates on the Ravens roster entering training camp.

Ravens Roster Cut Candidates

3. Ben Mason

NFL teams never have more than one fullback on the roster while some don't even have any. For Ben Mason, he's going to get some solid reps throughout training camp and probably play some preseason games. However, the Ravens have Patrick Ricard on the roster who has been a phenomenal option for them.

This is likely a losing battle for Mason unless something crazy happens during training camp. At the very least, Ben Mason will have a chance to showcase his skill set throughout the preseason and potentially catch the eye of another franchise in need of a fullback.

2. Tylan Wallace

The former fourth-round selection didn't play much at all last year and it's hard to imagine he'll earn a legitimate role for the 2022 season. Although the Ravens' wide receiver core is lacking firepower outside of Rashod Bateman, Wallace still has an uphill climb to make the final roster. It will be extremely competitive throughout training camp and he must show improvement to make the team.

Additionally, Tylan Wallace is competing against a projected eight receivers on the roster. That's assuming Bateman, Devin Duvernay, and James Proche II are locked in as the starters. Basked on his lack of production, the Ravens' coaching staff may opt to choose one of the many rookies on the team over him.

1. Mike Davis

Baltimore smartly signed Mike Davis as a free agent this offseason, as JK Dobbins and Gus Edwards are bouncing back from major injuries. However, Davis could very well be a cut candidate this offseason after failing to hold the starting job with the Atlanta Falcons last year. That should have been an easy job for him to retain, but he was consistently outplayed by the rest of that backfield. He's going to have to bounce back in a big way to remain with the Ravens.

If Dobbins and Edwards are fully healthy, then Davis likely won't see the field much. Simultaneously, Baltimore drafted Tyler Badie, who is an exciting prospect in his own right. There's a chance Badie straight up outplays Mike Davis throughout training camp and the preseason and wins the backup role behind the Ravens' top options.
