After failing to upend the short-handed Tennessee Titans on Sunday night, it has become apparent that the Los Angeles Rams have serious adjustments to make if they want to knock off some of the more elite teams in the league. When they defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a primetime matchup earlier this season, the Rams looked absolutely unstoppable and it seemed as if they were capable of beating any team, especially after handily beating a deep and talented Buccaneers crew that can never be taken lightly.

But coming off two brutal losses to the Titans and Arizona Cardinals, who are both playing like the best team in their respective conferences, it seems as if the 7-2 Rams have been exposed and starting to show weaknesses that weren't noticeable in prior weeks.

As they start looking at ways to improve their game plan and play more efficiently, let's discuss the three Rams players who are most to blame for their blowout loss to the Titans in Week 9.

Matthew Stafford

Right from the start, Stafford came out flat against the Titans with two straight picks that both led to easy touchdowns for Tennessee. He played much better in the second half and was running the Rams offense more effectively, but they were unable to convert any touchdowns until the final minute and had to settle for field goals leading up to the final score. In their Week 10 matchup against their long-time division rival San Francisco 49ers, Stafford will have to be on his A-game.

Seeing as they'll be heavily favored to win against the struggling 49ers, this game is a must-win for the Rams. Whatever the reason was, Stafford was not playing MVP-caliber football on Sunday night like he had been for the past few games leading up to the showdown with the Titans. So after a series of mishaps, Stafford is due for a redemption game against the 49ers.

Tyler Higbee

Despite a solid performance from Higbee on Sunday night, his miscue in the red zone in the third quarter truly was the play that cost the Rams the game and denied them any chance of a come-from-behind victory. What looked like an amazing catch after Stafford was able to shake multiple tacklers and get off a tight pass, the initial call was overturned and they wound up going for it on 4th and goal and failed to convert instead of coming up with a timely touchdown that would've cut the Titans' lead to five points.

Had Higbee not stepped out of bounds before catching a great pass from Stafford, the outcome could have been very different for the Rams in Week 9. But alas, they suffered another tough loss to one of the league's best teams. Hoping to bounce back big next week against the 49ers, Higbee will need to avoid silly mistakes during pivotal points in the game.

Sony Michel

Even though he's still finding his place in the Rams offense and still trying to shake off the rust after being out injured, Michel must step his game up to give the team a more potent rushing attack. After seeing a ton of success with the New England Patriots over the past few years, Michel needs to produce more for the Rams. Considering how lethal he is when playing out of the backfield or excelling in the passing game, he could prove to be a huge asset to the squad's offense.

Clearly, the Rams need to get some big plays out of Michel as they look to bounce back from a tough loss in Week 9. Their lack of aggression in the running game is definitely an area of improvement and Michel could provide them with a huge boost in this department if he's able to revive his old glory and give the Rams a more versatile approach on offense.
