The six-game winning streak of the Dallas Cowboys has come to an end after they succumbed to the Denver Broncos in Week 9 action. With a 30-16 defeat, America's Team dropped to a 6-2 record but still maintained their position at the top of the NFC East.

Without a doubt, the Cowboys could've performed better than their outing against the Broncos and all is not yet lost on their bid towards competing for a title this season. Hopefully, the team can quickly move on and learn from their errors in order to get back on the right track as soon as possible.

Here are three reasons why the Cowboys are still Super Bowl contenders despite the huge loss in Week 9:

3. Micah Parsons continues to impress for the Cowboys.

The lone bright spot for the team in their defeat to the Broncos was rookie linebacker Micah Parsons who continues to be a presence on the defensive end. He had another impressive outing in Week 9 as he led the unit with eight total tackles and 2.5 sacks against opposing QB Teddy Bridgewater.

Aside from his high level of production, Parsons' ability to play both the linebacker and pass-rusher positions makes him an even more valuable player for the Cowboys' defense. Defensive coordinator Dan Quinn will also play a major role in allowing him to reach his full potential moving forward. Certainly enough, the team will need Parsons to sustain his good performances in their coming games if they truly want to contend for the title this season.

2. It was merely an off night for Dak Prescott

For the most part this season, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott seemed to have found his previous Pro Bowl form after suffering a major ankle injury last year. However, the 28-year-old playmaker was recently sidelined once again as he sustained a calf strain that kept him out of their Week 8 tilt against the Minnesota Vikings.

In his return, Prescott didn't have his usual rhythm on the field as he struggled with 232 yards on 19-of-39 passes completed to go with two TDs and an interception against the Broncos. Anyone who paid attention to Cowboys games this year can confidently say that the gunslinger is capable of playing better than how he did in their last outing.

It might have been a bad game for Prescott after missing time due to an injury but Cowboys fans can expect him to quickly bounce back and have a better performance starting next week against the Atlanta Falcons. Ultimately, the team would need their QB1 to play at his best if they want to go all the way and vie for a Super Bowl title in 2021.

1. The Cowboys have too much talent on their roster to not be a contender this season.

In the 2021 season, the Cowboys have turned things around as they got off to a six-game winning streak after absorbing a loss in Week 1. Certainly enough, Dallas has one of the more complete rosters in the league armed with an offense that can quickly put up points across the board.

Aside from Dak Prescott, they possess multiple weapons which include Ezekiel Elliott, Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup, CeeDee Lamb, Dalton Schultz, and the much improved Tony Pollard. Their defense is no pushover either as Micah Parsons along with Trevon Diggs, Randy Gregory, and Leighton Vander Esch have all been doing solid work for the team thus far.

Yes, the Cowboys still have to improve on a lot of things, especially on their defense. However, it can't be denied that they already have the pieces that they need in order to make it far in the postseason. For comparison, the loaded Tampa Bay Buccaneers also encountered bad games and several defeats in last year's regular season.

However, the amount of talent that they had on both ends of the field as well as their solid chemistry allowed them to make it far and eventually win it all by the end of their 2020 campaign. Admittedly, Mike McCarthy and his men have yet to reach that level though they can unleash their full potential if they manage to minimize their errors and work on their lapses moving forward.

It can't be denied that the Cowboys are showing a ton of promise this year though it is completely up to them to prove that they are true title contenders come playoff time.
