The excitement that quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has brought to the San Francisco 49ers is infectious, so much so that even Detroit Lions wide receiver Golden Tate can feel it.

Tate still has one year left on his contract with Detroit, but during an interview on Murph & Mac on KNBR in the Bay Area, he seemed to indicate he'd be just fine joining a new team, especially if it's San Francisco.

During his radio appearance, Tate was asked about his time with the Seattle Seahawks and their heated rivalry with Jim Harbaugh's Niners. At the end of the discussion, David Fucillo of Niners Nation noted that Tate brought up Garoppolo on his own. Transcribed by Fucillo:

“It sounds like the 49ers have found gold in big G over there.”

While Tate said he's yet to meet Garoppolo, he admitted that he's impressed with what the former Tom Brady protégé accomplished down the stretch of the season:

“I’m kind of a fan. I mean guy shows up, don’t know a lick about the playbook and goes what, 5-0? 6-0? Let’s go.”

Tate went on to say that he's not the only wide receiver who will be interested in joining Garoppolo's receiving corps upon hitting free agency.

Fucillo made it clear that Tate approached this interview with a casual tone, so it might not be a good idea to look too far into the receiver's comments. He also said he eventually sees himself finishing his career in his home state of Tennessee with the Titans.

Still, it's clear that Garoppolo's early success in San Francisco is catching the attention of the league, and, like any star quarterback, receivers on the open market will be intrigued by the idea of teaming up with the signal caller.
