Los Angeles Angels superstar Mike Trout left Tuesday nights game against the Houston Astros with upper back spasms. The last thing the Angels need is their future Hall of Fame outfielder missing time with injury. According to MLB.com writer Rhett Bollinger, Trout went for an MRI and a CT scan on his back.

Thankfully, there was no strain revealed. He likely will only need a couple days rest before being inserted back into the starting lineup. Trout also talked about how his back had been bothering him over the last week or so, but that it flared up worse Tuesday night. The outfielder is among the league leaders with 24 home runs this season.

Both Trout and the Angels do not believe he will require a stint on the injured list.

The Angels came out of the gates on fire this season. Trout and teammate Shohei Ohtani are each having fantastic seasons. The outfielder is among the league leaders with 24 home runs this season. But the club eventually fell apart. Los Angeles went on a 14-game losing streak that took them from first in the American League West division to fourth.

With the All-Star break approaching, it's a good time for the Angels to reset.

Arguably the biggest problem is the team's starting rotation. After Ohtani, who has been phenomenal on the mound as well as at the plate, the rest of the rotation has been downright awful. Patrick Sandoval is the team's second starter. Entering play Wednesday, the Angels had fallen all the way to 38-50 and are 20 games behind the Houston Astros.

Los Angeles is going to need Trout, Ohtani and a complete turnaround in the second half. Well, at least they will have the first two.
