Los Angeles Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn has been accused of being a poor game manager, handling close game decisions with a sense of fear.

On the daily Locked On Chargers podcast, hosts Daniel Wade and David Droegemier were joined by The Athletics’ Daniel Popper. The guys discussed the Chargers' terrible time management against the Buffalo Bills last weekend.

Popper: It was rough all around. Anthony Lynn had explanations for everything outside of that run call at the end of the game. But to me, that was really the icing on the cake. The game was pretty much over at that point. It’s a pretty inexcusable error but I’m looking at the end of the first half situation and I couldn’t get over the fact that you get the ball with two minutes and 10 seconds left and all three of your timeouts. You really have four with the two-minute warning and you come out with zero points and you view it as a success.

Like Anthony Lynn said, “well we didn’t get hurt by it so I don’t really understand why you’re hammering this point home.” Like, you need to score points in that situation. It is the perfect representation of how he coaches and that is not to lose as opposed to coaching to win. Your offense is struggling. You can’t move the ball. You can’t run the ball. Justin is obviously being disrupted by the pressure and disguises. You have six points in the first half and here’s a good opportunity to go get points and you’re more worried about not giving the ball to the Bills.
