It's been a busy offseason for the Atlanta Falcons as the franchise hopes to improve the roster over the next couple of years. Matt Ryan has moved on, putting Atlanta in a new era of football, so we'll see how they handle themselves with Marcus Mariota under center. We dive into some of our Falcons' predictions for the 2022 NFL Draft, as this year is highly unpredictable.

This team needs help on both sides of the ball so we may see a balanced approach throughout the draft. Even so, the offense is a major issue as this roster is lacking weapons outside of Kyle Pitts and Cordarrelle Patterson. For that reason, we should see the Falcons make some big moves to improve the backfield.

Another area of concern is the passing game. Pitts will be an absolute monster, but the receiving core is a major liability. It might be smart for the Falcons to focus on building around the quarterback position to increase their chances of success.

With that said, here are three bold Falcons predictions for the 2022 NFL Draft.

Falcons Predictions for 2o22 NFL Draft

3. The front office selects either Breece Hall or Kenneth Walker

Atlanta needs to acquire as many skills positions players as possible if they hope to compete with the rest of the NFC South. Running back isn't a key issue, as Cordarrelle Patterson proved to be a reliable option. However, it'd be nice to see the Falcons add a legitimate prospect in the backfield and give themselves more options in the run game.

For insight and predictions on the 2022 NFL Draft, listen below:

Breece Hall and Kenneth Walker are deemed as the top two running back prospects this year. It's unclear when they'll be drafted, but the Falcons will have a legitimate chance to add one of these two players. Keep an eye on Atlanta, as the front office might fall in love with Hall or Walker in the NFL Draft.

2. Atlanta skips taking a quarterback

Many are speculating the Falcons select a quarterback in the first round of the draft. As of now, Marcus Mariota is in line to be the starter and it's hard to imagine any of these prospects beating him out for the starting job in minicamp. Atlanta very well could take Malik Willis, or maybe Kenny Pickett, but the smarter decision is to build around Mariota.

The reason for that is it's likely the Falcons are a bottom-barrel team in 2022. This means they're likely to have a top draft pick in the 2023 draft. Next year's draft class is stacked with better quarterback prospects. So, Atlanta can build around the quarterback position now, then take one in 2023 to increase their chances of success down the road. It's not ideal for fans, but this is a realistic scenario that may play out.

1. Falcons draft the first wide receiver off the board

So, rather than taking one of the rookie quarterbacks, the Falcons should focus on taking a receiver. Considering they have the eighth pick overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, all of the receiver prospects should be available. This bodes well for Atlanta, as they can take who they believe is the best receiver in the draft to pair up with Kyle Pitts.

Many believe Garrett Wilson is the top prospect, but recent rumors suggest teams have Jameson Williams number one on their board. We'll see how they take, but whoever it is, the Falcons' offense will vastly improve. If the front office plays their cards right, they could have an offense loaded up with Kyle Pitts, Cordarrelle Patterson, Breece Hall, and Garrett Wilson. Who wouldn't want to work with that group?
