It's been a hot mess for this franchise but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Although the front office failed to hire any of their top candidates as head coach, they walk away with a solid leader in Doug Pederson. We take a dive into some of our bold Jacksonville Jaguars' predictions for the 2022 NFL Draft.

Jacksonville has multiple needs for the roster, but luckily for them, they have a ton of draft capital. Although the Jaguars signed Christian Kirk, it would be nice to see the front office reel in a red zone threat for Trevor Lawrence. If they can find a big-bodied wide receiver in round two, then the offense will be in much better shape moving forward.

Defensively, the Jaguars need some help. They were one of the worst defenses in the league last year and just released Myles Jack. For that reason, Jacksonville may consider using most of their draft picks this year on defensive players. That's the route they should go with the first overall selection as well.

With that said, here are three bold Jaguars' predictions for the 2022 NFL Draft.

Jaguars Predictions for the 2o22 NFL Draft

3. The front office selects a wide receiver 33rd overall

A wide receiver duo in Laviska Shenault and Christian Kirk isn't all that exciting. However, adding an exciting rookie prospect early in the second round of the NFL Draft suddenly gives the Jaguars' offense some juice. Lawrence needs better weapons around him and the front office can find a solid prospect 33rd overall.

For insight and predictions on the 2022 NFL Draft, listen below:

They likely will miss out on Jameson Williams, Garrett Wilson, and Drake London. However, there's a chance we see guys like Treylon Burks, Chris Olave, or George Pickens fall into round two. If that's the case, then the Jaguars need to sprint to the podium to select one of these stud receivers.

2. Jacksonville focuses on defense throughout most of the draft

The Jaguars need help in the defensive line, linebacking core, and the secondary. It wouldn't be shocking if the front office emphasizes the defensive side of the ball throughout most of the NFL Draft. Although the team needs to build around Lawrence, setting up the defense is equally as important.

Doug Pederson likely wants more offensive players, as he is an offensive-minded coach. Even so, this team isn't likely to be a playoff contender in 2022. Considering this draft class is loaded with talented defensive players, the Jaguars should highly consider focusing on that side of the ball to build the blueprint for their defense.

1. Jaguars take Travon Walker first overall

Most believe Aidan Hutchinson will be the first name called off the board. However, rumors have been swirling around the Jaguars being extremely interested in Travon Walker. Both players are edge rushers, so either way, Jacksonville will likely be improving their defensive line with the first pick of the 2022 NFL Draft.

It would be a bit crazy to see Walker taken before Hutchinson, but anything is possible. The Jaguars have the privilege of selecting whoever they want and rumors claim the front office is falling in love with Travon Walker. If that's the case, he could go number one overall. We'll see how it plays out, but Jacksonville could make a stunning decision come draft weekend.
