Sergi Barjuan is set to take over Barcelona as the interim manager amid Ronald Koeman's exit from the club. Xavi Hernandez will assume the role of Barca manager after finalizing his Al Sadd termination.

Earlier this season, Barcelona president Joan Laporta gave Koeman his vote of confidence— trusting that the Dutch manager could turn things around despite the immense pressure from Barca fans to get rid of him. However, Koeman never delivered on his part of the bargain.

Following a tragic loss 1-0 to Rayo Vallecano through a goal from Radamel Falcao—among a string of disappointing performances—Koeman was relieved of his services from the club after an emergency meeting with the Barcelona board immediately after the match. Rayo Vallecano's victory was their first win over Barcelona in 19 years.

After back-to-back losses, Barcelona currently sits 9th in the LaLiga table. This is the first good news Barca fans have heard in a while and they are surely ecstatic over Koeman's departure, but more importantly, the arrival of club legend Xavi Hernandez.

According to renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona B head coach Sergi Barjuan will be assuming the position of interim manager while waiting for Xavi to terminate his contract with Al Sadd.

Barjuan will have to hold the fort for the time being, but with viral clips of Xavi's Al Sadd looking like prime Barcelona, fans of the Blaugrana are eager for the arrival of the legendary midfielder. Nevertheless, one question will continue to remain, will Xavi be able to resurrect Barcelona back to its former glory? Or was the damage done by Josep Bartomeu and Ronald Koeman irreversible? We'll all have to wait and see.
