After the disaster that was Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace's tenure in Chicago, the Bears are undergoing a few changes. New coach Matt Eberflus and new GM Ryan Poles are looking to usher a new era in the team, and it starts with their quarterback, Justin Fields.

Last season, Fields showed flashes of the brilliance that made him a coveted QB pick last year. He was mobile, able to throw at different angles, and had decent accuracy. The Bears are hoping he can build off the good things he had last year, but they need an insurance policy in case he goes down. Because of that, they signed journeyman quarterback Trevor Siemian to be his backup. (via Ari Meirov)

Siemian's previous spot was in New Orleans as a third-string quarterback. However, injuries to both Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill had him play in spurts last season. He was decent, but the Bears likely want him more as a mentor to Fields. Siemian has been a good backup by all accounts, as he's able to fill in when needed and help out the starting QB.

Fields was a bit shafted in his first season with the Bears, as Nagy's offense didn't seem to fit his playstyle. He was a good runner last season who had the ability to move in the pocket, but the rigidity of Nagy's system didn't allow him to utilize these strengths. Hopefully, we get to see more of these strengths under Eberflus' coaching.

Will next season be the turning point of the Bears franchise? Only time will tell.
