The Chicago Bears placed wide receiver Allen Robinson on the injury report after he left practice on Friday with a knee injury. The Bears eventually listed Robinson as questionable to play against the Detroit Lions this Sunday, but head coach Matt Nagy said the decision to sideline the wide receiver was done for precautionary reasons.
That move worked out for Robinson, and it seems he's good to go on Sunday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Through 11 games this season, Robinson has recorded 71 receptions on 829 receiving yards. He also co-leads the team with five touchdowns, sharing that honor with tight end Jimmy Graham.
The injury bug has certainly hit Chicago lately. Along with Allen Robinson, there are eight other Bears listed as questionable against the Lions. It appears fellow wide receiver Darnell Mooney should be able to play, while quarterback Nick Foles will slot in as the backup behind Mitchell Trubisky. The defense is hoping Khalil Mack and Akiem Hicks will be ready for action after an ugly performance against the Green Bay Packers last Sunday night.
Chicago certainly needs to get as many reinforcements back as possible with its chances of making the playoffs getting slim. The Bears currently hold a 5-6 mark and are losers of five straight after racing out to a 5-1 record to begin the season.
The lowly Lions give Chicago a prime opportunity to get back in the win column. The Bears beat Detroit in Week 1 thanks to a miracle fourth-quarter comeback led by Trubisky.
