During the Chicago Bears' Week 5 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home, Cordarrelle Patterson was an X-factor on offense and special teams.

Patterson not only caught three passes for 38 yards from Nick Foles to help the Bears get a come-from-behind victory over Tom Brady, but the explosive playmaker also had three kickoff returns for a total of 119 yards.

During his Friday press conference with Bears reporters, Chicago head coach Matt Nagy spoke about why he's trying to get Patterson “more involved on offense.”

“We're trying to get [Patterson] going as much as we can,” Nagy said, via Larry Mayer of Bears.com.

“He's such a weapon for us. It just so happened yesterday there were a couple of plays where we were able to get him the ball and take advantage. You can see when he catches that ball on the outside there, you see that and feel the burst and power that he has, the speed. The more that we can continue to keep using him in different ways, the better for us.”

The Bears improved to 4-1 after defeating the Buccaneers by a final score of 20-19. While Cordarrelle Patterson hasn't reached the endzone yet this season, there is no denying the positive impact he's had on offense and special teams.

Since the Bears lost Tarik Cohen for the rest of the season due to an ACL tear, Patterson is going to get a lot more touches on offense moving forward. That's a sight Chicago fans will love to see as the season moves along.

The Bears will look to improve to 5-1 on the season when they take on the Carolina Panthers in Week 6 at Bank of America Stadium.
