Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver A.J. Green had a down 2018 year and a lot of that was due to injury, but on Tuesday morning he posted a video to his Instagram showing that he was finally boot free with the following caption.

“Happy to announce I’m officially boot free. Ready to start crushing offseason training. Big things ahead for 2019. 💪”

Green had his 2018 season cut short in December because of a toe injury, but seeing that he has the boot off is a good first step. Green says he has consulted with other players who suffered the same injury and they said the average recovery time is right around five months.

“[Gates] told me it takes time,” Green said via Pro Football Talk. “Four to five months to get range of motion. He had it in 2008 and no problems. (Marshall) said it’s a long process just because it’s a toe with a bunch of little things, but he’s been fine.”

Green also said that he is ready to get healthy and start working with Zac Taylor, the new head coach, because he has heard nothing but positives.

“I’ve heard great things,” Green said. “The way they run the ball sets up the pass game. I love it. I love the play-action. It’s fun to get back in that kind of offense. I loved playing for Jay [Gruden, the Bengals coordinator his first three years]. I had my best years with Jay.”

One of the keys for the Bengals' offense next year is that Green is healthy and it appears he is on his way to reaching that goal.
