Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver A.J. Green still hasn't returned to the practice field ahead of the team's Week 12 divisional showdown against the Cleveland Browns, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com.

It was reported last weekend that there was a “good chance” of Green making his return after missing the last two games with a toe injury. Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis then said Green was “ready to get back to work” on Wednesday, only for the wide receiver to remain sidelined for that practice and the practice on Thanksgiving.

Green hasn't played since the Bengals' 37-34 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the end of October. Cincinnati has only played two games since that win because of a bye, but both were losses. The Bengals were destroyed by the New Orleans Saints and then suffered a close defeat against the Baltimore Ravens this past weekend.

While Green hasn't yet returned to the practice field, that doesn't necessarily mean he won't suit up against Cleveland. However, Hobson notes that players under Marvin Lewis have “rarely” played if they didn't participate in Wednesday or Thursday practice in at least a limited fashion.

Andy Dalton and the Bengals would certainly welcome Green's presence back in the lineup. Dalton has struggled to get going with Green out, and the wide receiver adds a whole different dimension to Cincinnati's offense.

The 30-year-old has caught 45 passes for 687 yards and six touchdowns this season. A.J. Green has gone over 1,000 yards in every season of his career except one, a year in which he only played 10 games.
