There were countless memorable moments that played out during the 2017 NFL season. One of the more notable was the throwdown between Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green and Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey.

Given the nature of their brawl, one would think that there still may be some indifference between the Pro Bowlers. However, Green said during an appearance on PFT Live that there is no bad blood lingering with Ramsey.

“There’s no real beef,” Green said. “There’s no real beef off the field. There’s just two competitors. Got in the heat of the moment. Stuff happens. When you’re playing, it’s sports man. You know, tempers go crazy sometimes, and sometimes you can’t control emotions. I couldn’t control mine that day. [I’ve] got to do a better job of that.”

Green added that he is prepared to keep his emotions in check the next time they face off.

“Whenever that time comes, I’ll be ready for it,” Green said.

The veteran's comments should come as no surprise. Fights among players are common occurrences in the NFL given its highly competitive nature. However, it was still a bit strange to see a player as even-keeled as Green to fire off a couple of rounds on an opponent.

Then again, his frustration that day was understandable given the circumstances. Not only was Ramsey establishing himself as the game's biggest trash-talker, but he was also backing it up with stellar play too after holding the seven-time Pro Bowler to one catch for six yards. That said, it seems Green is looking to hit the young star where it truly hurts on the field.
