Joe Burrow is an Ohio kid through and through. He grew up in The Plains in Athens County, attended Athens High School, and even went off to Ohio State University before his transfer to LSU. And of course, Burrow is playing for his home state's NFL team, leading the Cincinnati Bengals to their first Super Bowl appearance since the 1980s. One of the most heated debates surrounding Burrow's legacy has revolved around Ohio State fans “laying claim” to the second-year NFL star. Buckeyes fans on social media have often claimed that Burrow was a product of Ohio State, while LSU fans vehemently disagree. Burrow himself has finally weighed in on the topic, putting an end to the debate once and for all, via Bengals insider Ben Baby.

The question was posed to Burrow again on Thursday, and Joe Brrr gave a definitive answer, saying “I'm definitely still a Buckeye. I graduated from there.”

Well, there you have it, folks. Now OSU and LSU fans can stop beefing on Twitter and just appreciate the greatness that Burrow is displaying on the field each week. It truly doesn't matter what school lays claim to No. 9, because in his eyes, he's a member of both Buckeyes Nation and Tigers Nation, and nothing will change that.

Burrow spent three years at Ohio State, including his redshirt freshman season, featuring in just 10 games throughout his tenure. He transferred to LSU for his final two seasons at the college level, featuring in 28 games and leading the Tigers to a National Championship. It's easy to see why LSU fans consider him to be their crown jewel, but as Burrow said himself, he's still a Buckeye at heart.
