There are two types of NFL teams this time of the year: those who are still in contention to win the Super Bowl and those who are already in offseason mode, trying to find solutions to what went wrong for them over the course of their just-ended campaign. The Cincinnati Bengals obviously fall on the latter category, and among their priorities right now is to find a replacement head coach for Marvin Lewis. One figure who apparently has a shot at the vacant job position is Vance Joseph.

According to Ryan Koenigsberg of BSN Denver, the Bengals are set to interview Joseph for the head coaching gig, shortly after he was fired by the Denver Broncos.

Per a source, former Broncos head coach Vance Joseph will interview for the head coach opening in Cincinnati this week.

Lewis stepped down as the Bengals’ head coach on Dec. 31 after an almost two-decade run as the franchise’s mentor. During his lengthy stint as the team’s sideline boss, Lewis was not able to lead the Bengals to a single playoff win, though, he did steer them to four AFC North titles.

As for Vance Joseph, he only lasted two seasons as the Broncos’ head coach, finishing his stint in Denver with an 11-21 record.

Joseph isn’t new to the Bengals’ fanbase, as he’s served as Cincinnati’s defensive backs coach from 2014 to 2015.
