The Cincinnati Bengals are expected to finalize their agreement with Zac Taylor to become their new head coach on Monday, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Taylor is currently the Los Angeles Rams' quarterbacks coach.

He began working on Sean McVay's staff in Los Angeles in 2017, starting as a wide receivers coach before being promoted this season.

However, Taylor earned his first NFL coaching job back in 2012, when he was named the Miami Dolphins' assistant quarterbacks coach. The following year, the Dolphins promoted Taylor to the role of full-time quarterbacks coach, a position he held through 2015 while also serving as offensive coordinator in 2015.

Taylor then descended into the college ranks in 2016, taking over as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Cincinnati, where he resided for just one year before McVay nabbed him for his staff the next season.

This will mark the Bengals' first change at head coach since 2003, when Marvin Lewis replaced Dick LeBeau.

Lewis then went on to patrol Cincinnati's sideline for 15 seasons, going 131-122-3 overall and leading the Bengals to seven playoff appearances and a pair of NFC North division titles.

Cincinnati actually made the postseason five years in a row between 2011 and 2015.

However, throughout Lewis' entire tenure with the franchise, the Bengals did not make it past the Wild Card Round of the playoffs. As a matter of fact, Cincy has not won a playoff game since the 1990-91 campaign.

This past year, the Bengals went 6-10. They have missed the playoffs three seasons in a row.
