The Golden State Warriors are one of the teams to struggle immensely in the first 30+ games of the season. After adding Chris Paul, Dario Saric, and a few other guys, it was expected that the team would be a serious contender in the Western Conference. Draymond Green's lengthy absence and the plethora of blown games have forced Steve Kerr to make a ton of rotational changes throughout the year. Two of the most affected individuals are youngsters Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody.
After the Warriors' collapse vs. the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night, it was reported that Kuminga and Moody are both very frustrated with their respective roles with Golden State. It is uncharacteristic for a champion coach like Steve Kerr to receive flak for making questionable rotational decisions, but Dubs fans are not happy with the job he has done this season.
Given all the question marks and CP3's recent injury, it will be intriguing to see what the Warriors do before the trade deadline. With Moses Moody possibly being one of the pieces moved, here are some of the best destinations for the wing from Arkansas.
Milwaukee Bucks
After completing the Damian Lillard trade, one of the Milwaukee Bucks' biggest weakness has been the inconsistent play of their role players. It has been very evident that their roster is top-heavy, which is a risky approach heading into the postseason. The quartet of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard, Khris Middleton, and Brook Lopez should be reliable in the playoffs, but that might not be enough when it matters.
Buying low on a two-way wing with potential like Moses Moody would be a smart approach for the Milwaukee front office. Since the Warriors have not been prioritizing him in their usual rotation, it is the best time to acquire him. It would be tough to expect Moody to play fourth-quarter minutes in the playoffs, but he could be helpful as a depth piece and could grow into something more on a roster that's aging.
Sacramento Kings
The Sacramento Kings are a similar organization that is set with their franchise cornerstones but is still having trouble finding the perfect complementary pieces. Guys like Kevin Huerter and Davion Mitchell have struggled immensely, and it is inevitable for Sacramento to be active on the trade market. The Kings have been linked to Pascal Siakam, though it seems that chase is on hold for now.
If the Kings look for a smaller trade, Moses Moody would be an intriguing option. The youngster would be able to play alongside De'Aaron Fox, Domantas Sabonis, and Keegan Murray with no major issues. Moody can be a reliable catch-and-shoot three-point shooter and a willing defender. Moreover, Kings head coach Mike Brown has familiarity with Moody from when he was a Warriors assistant.
Los Angeles Lakers
To nobody's surprise, the Los Angeles Lakers are in the sweepstakes for any wing who can shoot and can play defense. Aside from Austin Reaves, none of their wings have been living up to expectations, which has turned into a disaster for LeBron James and the Lakers so far. Zach LaVine and Dejounte Murray are two of the more popular names linked to Los Angeles, but there are some pitfalls when it comes to acquiring them.
Adding somebody like Moses Moody is an alternative method Rob Pelinka could seek out. While Moody is still unproven and the Lakers will likely want veteran upgrades as well, they should still see if they can get him on the cheap to help their wing rotation.
