The Vancouver Canucks hope to continue their dominance of the National Hockey League when they host the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday night. It is time to continue our NHL odds series with a Coyotes-Canucks prediction, pick, and how-to-watch.

The Coyotes are getting elite goaltending from Connor Ingram, but the team struggles to give him much goal support. Ingram has a 15-8-1 record with a .918 save percentage. The Coyotes sit in fifth in the Central Division with a 21-18-3 record. Their recent stretch of five losses in seven games has sent them down the standings and hindered their chances of making the playoffs. They are four points behind the Oilers and Predators for a wildcard spot but also have the Flames and Kraken standing in their way. Clayton Keller leads the way, tallying 39 points in 42 games.

The narrative surrounding the Canucks was that we would find out a lot about the Canucks during their Eastern Conference road trip. They played most of the Metropolitan Division, moving through New York and Pennsylvania before finishing in Columbus. The Canucks proved that their rise to the top of the NHL is no fluke. They won five straight to start the trip before finishing it with a shootout loss to Columbus. The Canucks earned 11 of a possible 12 points. Elias Pettersson was the star, tallying three or more points in three of the six games for 13 points total.

Why The Coyotes Will Cover The Spread/Win

It's going to be difficult for the Coyotes in this matchup. They started their road trip with a 6-0 win over the Minnesota Wild and followed it up with an overtime loss to the Calgary Flames. It will take a special effort from Connor Ingram to get the Coyotes a win on Thursday night. Shutting down the Canucks is no easy task, but the Coyotes may be able to jump on them early as they settle back into Rogers Arena.

Why The Canucks Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Coyotes offense will struggle to keep up with the Canucks on Thursday night, as they average just three goals per game. The Coyotes are a well-balanced team, both scoring and allowing three. However, the Canucks statistically have a better offense and defense. The Canucks average 3.82 goals per game while allowing just 2.55. Connor Ingram has had a good season, but Thatcher Demko wins the goaltending battle, boasting a .919 save percentage and a 22-8-1 record.

It isn't easy to embark on a two-week road trip and have much juice in your first game back. It's been profitable to fade a team in their first home game in these circumstances. However, for the Canucks it may be a chance to go against the grain and take them to win this game. It would be impossible not to have some momentum going after taking 11 of 12 points from the Eastern Conference swing.

The Canucks are 7-2-1 over their last ten games, while the Coyotes are 4-5-1. The Coyotes are 8-9-3 on the road, and the Canucks are a successful team at home, boasting a 14-4-1 record.

Final Coyotes-Canucks Prediction & Pick

How can you bet against the Canucks at this point in the season? As they approach the All-Star break, they are one of the best teams in hockey and just swept through the Eastern Conference. Five of their players, Elias Pettersson, JT Miller, Quinn Hughes, Thatcher Demko, and Brock Boeser, will be going to Toronto for the All-Star Game. The reunion of the “Lotto Line” Boeser, Miller, and Pettersson has the team's offense firing on all cylinders. Take the Canucks to send their fans home happy in their first home game since January 2nd.
