Favorites to win 2022 Sony Open in Hawaii golf odds
Cameron Smith (+850). Smith is off to a fantastic start to the 2021-22 PGA TOUR season. He is 4/4 so far in the campaign and he didn’t just make the cut in each of his past four starts, he finished inside the top 15 in all of them – in four of which he cracked the top 10, including a win at the Sentry Tournament of Champions. In other words, he is red hot, heading into the 2022 Sony Open in Hawaii. But it’s not just his recent trend that’s making his potential to win this weekend go through the roof. Smith, of course, has won the Sony Open in Hawaii before, topping the event back in 2019. That was his only top-10 finish in six total starts in this event, but he made the cut in each of those Sony Open in Hawaii iterations.
Webb Simpson(+1500). If you’re impressed with Cameron Smith going 6/6 in his career at Waialae Country Club, then prepare to get even dazzled by Simpson’s own feat; The 36-year-old Simpson is a perfect 11/11 in PGA TOUR starts at the said course since 2009. He’s yet to win there, but he’s got a podium finish, four top 10s, and eight top 25s. He’s also sneaked into the top five in each of his last three appearances at Waialae Country Club. As for his form this season, Simpson is ¾ with his best finish to date being a T-8 at the RSM Classic back in November.
Sungjae Im (+1700). Im is another one who’s on a solid streak, having made the cut in all of his five PGA TOUR starts this season. The last time he saw action, he ended up with an eighth-place campaign at the Sentry Tournament of Champions last week to pocket a cool sum of $217,500. And he’s also already bagged a win this season, topping the field at the Shriners Children's Open last October. Im has not missed a cut in three appearances at Waialae.

Charles Howell (+5500). Howell has never won in 20 starts at Waialae, but don’t ever, ever, ever let that make you ignore his name when he’s part of the field in a tournament there because of one simple fact: Howell is 20/20 in PGA TOUR starts at Waialae. Moreover, he has made his way to a top-10 finish there a total of 10 times. A Sony Open in Hawaii is basically the only thing missing for Howell, and every year seems like it could be it for the 42-year-old pro from Augustus, Georgia.
Chris Kirk (+5500). Kirk came close to winning the 2021 edition of the Sony Open in Hawaii, firing a 65 in each of the four rounds in that tournament to finish 20-under 260. That was his second runner-up finish in 11 starts at the Sony Open in Hawaii, dating back to 2011. Of those starts, he missed the cut seven times, so he's someone that carries a boom-or-bust potential for this tournament. So far this season, Kirk is 4/5, with his lone miss coming at The RSM Classic last November. His best finish this campaign is a T-14 at the THE CJ CUP @ SUMMIT back in October.
